From November 5 to 7, 2019, we were honoured and delighted to follow the invitation to attend this year's ICPerMed (International Consortium on Personalised Medicine) Workshop and, additionally, a special Cluster Event for MSCA (Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Action) ITNs (Innovative Training Networks) in Madrid, Spain, organised jointly by the ICPerMed Secretariat as well as the Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission. To represent ESIT, it was attended by Project Scientific Coordinator Winfried Schlee, supervisors Antonio López-Escámez and Ruediger Pryss, as well as Project Network Manager Axel Schiller.

The ICPerMed's detailled report on the Workshop can be accessed here.

This has been a most exceptional opportunity to learn about ongoing cutting-edge research on personalised medicine (PM) in Europe and far beyond, and to showcase and discuss ESIT's multifaceted contribution in this regard. In fact, a significant number of our PhD students' projects are explicitly concerned with the currently much-discussed area of PM (e.g. with regards to genetics, psychological theories, data science, and even digital health) and we were happy to share and debate our experiences with thirteen other MSCA ITNs covering all over Europe as well as to establish new interdisciplinary contacts.

We'd like to thank the REA as well as the ICPerMed very much for their kind invitation and perfect organisation of this international event, and are indeed looking forward to further fruitful collaboration in PM!
