In October 2019, ESIT PhD student Sana Amanat, researching at the Fundación para la Investigación Biosanitaria de Andalucía Oriental (FIBAO) and the University of Granada, Spain, completed her secondment with the Ménière's Society in the United Kingdom.
Sana is conducting highly specialised genetics research on the condition of Ménière's Disease, especially for severe variants of the disease, which detrimentally affects, among other areas, balance and hearing, and is therefore often closely connected to tinnitus.
During her secondment, Sana also presented at the Ménière's annual conference in London and, together with her supervisor António López-Escámez, prepared a tinnitus information sheet accessible to patients and carers. It can be viewed here.
Congratulations to Sana from the entire ESIT team on having successfully completed her secondment and having built new, international cooperations in the Ménière's and tinnitus field!
